Is massage therapy safe during pregnancy?

We strive to provide the safest, most comfortable care for pregnant clients. We have supportive pillows and offer perinatal-specific techniques to help pregnant clients function at their best and feel comfortable before and after birth.

Should I bring my medical records to my initial appointment?

Yes, that can be beneficial to know how your body has been functioning. During your initial assessment, our Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) will go over your health history to make sure that you are in the right place.

What types of massage do you offer?

We may provide manual (hands-on) and instrument-assisted therapies. Every session is based on what suits your symptoms and preferences, which may change as your health goals or body changes, or your clinical presentation changes from visit to visit. It is ok to talk with and ask your RMT about your options for care.

Can I get a deep massage?

Yes! While our RMT’s strength is providing a deeper massage, the pressure can be adjusted whether you prefer light touch or deeper massage, based on your comfort and the clinical findings.

How is perinatal massage different?

Perinatal massage for pregnant and postpartum clients is goal-driven and tailored to your unique journey; whether you're preparing for labor/delivery or a planned c-section, or healing postpartum and/or setting up for your next pregnancy after already having a child/children. We honour and respect this sacred time in your life, so we use safe, supportive positioning and gentle techniques.

Can I get massage therapy on the same day as chiropractic care or naturopathy?

Definitely. You can use a holistic, team approach during your journey to bettering your health and happiness. Many clients with extended benefits or insurance claims love that we offer multiple therapies at one convenient location.

How long should my session be?

We offer shorter and extended sessions depending on your needs. If you're unsure, we can help you choose the right length at the time of booking.

How often should I come in?

This depends on your clinical presentation and healthcare goals. While some clients choose to come less frequently, we notice that the clients who get the best results have more regular care. We’ll help create a plan that works for your goals and expectations.

Is massage therapy covered by my insurance?

Most extended health plans cover Registered Massage Therapy, and we offer direct billing for added convenience. Please note, if it is your first visit of the calendar year, you may have to pay a deductible.

Where or how can I find out about RMT fees?

Fees can be found on our website and posted at our reception. Please talk with us if you have insurance or if your insurance is full or partial coverage. We can help you with this.
